Dhaka Ahsania Mission is a non-government development organization founded by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an eminent educationist, reformer and Sufi. The founding motto of DAM is ‘Divine and humanitarian service’. It functions since 1958 pursuing the  aims of social and spiritual development of entire human community.

Mission

DAM provides high quality services towards unity, peace and development of social and spiritual life for the human community in general and for the disadvantaged and suffering humanity, in particular.

Mr. Kazi Rafiqul Alam

Kazi Rafiqul Alam dedicated his life to promoting quality adult and continuing education through enhancing facilitators, teachers, and learners’ capabilities. 

Under Alam’s visionary leadership, the Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) has grown to be a multi-dimensional initiative, running 104 projects and institutions. The Mission has been recognized for its services to the society and won many national and international prizes and awards. Through Alam’s leadership, DAM launched an innovative model for Community Resource Centres (Ganokendras) which have not only created a platform for the planning and delivery of adult and continuing education but also proved an effective space for networking within the community to better harness other development services.

Alam is currently Chairperson of the Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE), an alliance of 1,300 NGOs working in the fields of literacy and education and serves as President of the Bangladesh Literacy Association affiliated with International Literacy Association.

The National University of Bangladesh (legally: National University) is a public collegiate university of Bangladesh that was established in 1992 by an Act of Parliament as an affiliating university of the country to impart graduate and post-graduate level education to the students through its affiliated colleges, schools and professional institutions throughout the country. It is the third largest university in the world according to enrollment. The headquarters is in Gazipur, on the outskirts of Dhaka. After its establishment it affiliated association degree awarding colleges, where many of them were previously affiliated by the University of Dhaka, University of Rajshahi and University of Chittagong.
